-400 grams of condensed milk
-380 milliliters of evaporated milk
-300 grams of flour for tamales
-300 grams of rice flour
-2 dessert spoons of baking powder
-16 corn or banana leaves
-200 grams of pineapple
-100 grams of chopped walnut
-100 grams of raisins
-1 jar of pineapple jam
Canarios Elaboration
1- You beat the butter with the condensed milk until you have a cream.
2- Add the evaporated milk, flour, and baking powder without beating. You beat for five more minutes at medium speed. Don’t worry if there are little lumps in the dough; that won’t affect the result.
3- On the other hand, you chop the pineapple and the walnut finely.
4- You empty tablespoons of mixture in the tamale leaves and fill a little pineapple in pieces, walnuts, and raisins.
5- You close the tamales by rolling the leaf and tightening it. You steam for 50 minutes or until the dough comes off the leaves without leaving lumps.
6- Tamales Canarios are served warm and accompanied by pineapple jam.
