To Make the Steak – Authentic Mexican Tacos

1. Place steak, pickled jalapeños, lime juice, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper, and garlic in a resealable bag. Seal tightly and mash ingredients to combine. Place the bag inside the refrigerator, and marinate for at least one hour and up to 12 hours. When ready to use, you can remove the bag from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.

2. Heat oil in a grill or sizeable non-steak skillet over medium-high heat. Alternatively, preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade, discard marinade, and pat steak dry with paper towels. Add pepper and salt, if needed. When the grill or skillet is hot, sear the steak on each side for 4 to 6 minutes, until an instant-read thermometer reads 140°F when inserted into the thickest part of the meat, for medium doneness. Then remove the meat from the heat, transfer it to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then cut the meat into thin slices.

Make the tacos

To assemble the tacos, top the tortillas with steak, onion, and cilantro, and serve immediately with lime wedges and salsa.

Substitution:

Some steaks tend to be more expensive than others. There are two different cuts: inner and outer. The former is de-membraned and needs a quick browning, while the latter is more challenging and needs to be de-membraned before cooking. You can also tenderize the meat before processing.

The rich flavor of the steak and the rest of this delicious recipe’s ingredients will undoubtedly give us a tasty moment. The recipe’s success, however, will depend mainly on our preparation. Especially the steak must be soft enough to allow us to taste this taco with pleasure. We can also substitute the steak for some other type of meat with different cooking. Anything that improves the recipe without changing its essence will allow you and your family and friends to enjoy it to the fullest.
